Agata Anna Żychlińska (b. 1992, Piła) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Wrocław. Her practice encompasses painting, sculpture, and drawing. She primarily works with acrylic and oil on self-stretched linen or cotton canvases, often incorporating collage elements into her compositions. In her work, she combines intense, contrasting colors with the deconstruction of form, redefining space and the way it is perceived. Her pieces exist at the intersection of abstraction and figuration, built on the tension between simple forms and complex, often unsettling themes.
Żychlińska explores the relationships between humans and the natural world, questioning the boundaries of communication—both interpersonal and interspecies. Symbolism and allegory play a key role in her work, often intertwined with references to pop culture. She employs multidimensional perspectives, optical distortions, and fluid lines that not only create visual tension but also reflect intricate networks of connections between beings and worlds. Since 2020, anger and its visual representation have become a central theme in her art, serving as a response to contemporary social and ecological tensions.
A pivotal moment in her artistic practice was the Communication series (2020–2023), in which the juxtaposition of human and animal imagery became a starting point for reflecting on their complex interdependence.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including Plants Dream That They Live More Intensely Than Things at Warsaw Gallery Weekend (2024) and Mother, Do You Think They’ll Drop the Bomb? at ESTA Gallery in Gliwice (2024). Her work has also been featured at events such as Empower Her Art Forum at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo (2024), the 46th Bielska Jesień Painting Biennale (2023), NORDART in Büdelsdorf (2021), and Tales of Art at 1AQ Gallery in New Delhi (2017).

Żychlińska’s works are held in prestigious collections, including the Rothko Museum in Daugavpils, Latvia, Krupa Gallery in Wrocław, and numerous private collections worldwide.
